2016 Review of Solar Frontier Europe

The eventful year of 2016 is slowly but surely coming to an end. We would like to take this opportunity to look back at our highlights for this year. We would also like to thank all our customers and business partners for the trust they have placed in us and for working with us so successfully.

This year, we are particularly proud of the progress we have made at Solar Frontier – not only were we able to celebrate the opening of our new production facility in Tohoku; our 900 MW parent plant in the south of Japan also commenced production of even more powerful CIS modules. For this we received recognition from customers from a number of existing markets, but also from new countries. Solar Frontier has already sold more than 4 GW of CIS modules – that’s more than 25 million modules. These played a part in realising exciting new projects, such as an installation on Italy's largest shopping centre, a 1 MW community-owned solar plant in Magdeburg, Germany, or a car park rooftop installation in South Africa. In 2016, we were awarded such titles as Top Brand PV Modules by EuPD Research in the Netherlands for our services.

The year was also interesting in terms of our product range: we expanded our portfolio with the PowerSets Mini and Maxi, as well as a new substructure, and now also offer energy storage solutions from Mercedes-Benz Energy. Stay tuned in 2017 for more exciting developments.

And with that, we would like to wish you a peaceful and reflective Christmas time with your family and a happy new year 2017, from everyone on the Solar Frontier team!
