Data privacy statement Registration of PowerSets and usage of Power Monitoring

Solar Frontier Europe GmbH (“Solar Frontier") is firmly committed to your online data privacy.

It is our goal at Solar Frontier to develop an online environment which is easy to use and pays attention to your rights and expectations. This privacy policy describes how Solar Frontier collects, uses and protects data which you provide when using our registration routine and while using our online monitoring portal.

Our data privacy statement informs you about what data we need from you and for which purpose we are using it. Your data will only be used and stored for the described purpose and only kept in our system as long as necessary.

Registration

During your registration, we will ask you for a valid email address and a password freely chosen by you. This information will be used to create a unique user account. To check and to ensure the authenticity of your registration, we will send you an email for validation.

With these user account data, you later have access to all personal and plant specific data.

To protect against unauthorized access, please have in mind to choose a secure password and to keep your login information confidential.

When registering one or more PowerSets, we need the following information from you as well:

Title, first name, last name, company name, street name, house number, postal code, town, country, telephone number (voluntary indication)

This query is used to document the 10 year warranty extension for your purchased PowerSet.

If you place a tick mark at “address of installation same as user?” your address data will also be used to display the location of your installation in the monitoring portal.

Power Monitoring

Solar Frontier provides you with an online visualization of your photovoltaic installation’s data called Power Monitoring. During the usage of Power Monitoring we only collect data that are required for providing this specific service or data that have been provided by you at your own request.

First of all, we will ask you for the inverter serial number of the PowerSet that you want to register. With this information, we can assign the exact type of PowerSet out of our database and hand over the set-specific information to the monitoring portal. The information handed over is: overall plant power, number and type of modules, number and type of inverter

Furthermore, we ask you for the exact location of the system, the date of commissioning, your annual electricity consumption, the number of persons living in your house-hold, your energy usage behavior, the feed-in tariff and your electricity costs. The location will be used to visualize your installation on a map (bing maps) and for regional analysis. All further information is used to improve the visualization of your installation as long as it has been provided by you during registration.

The plant data and the data sent by the plant itself will be used by Solar Frontier to create regional analysis and comparisons. This data will also be used for anonymized statistics.

All plant data and the data sent by the plant itself are open to the public via our web site. The content of the Power Monitoring therefore is not only visible via the login but also visible to the public. Your personal data will not be displayed in this section and are only visible after logging in.
