Medium-sized systems provider green solar AG is headquartered in Winhöring (Altötting), Germany. The company offers its customers turnkey photovoltaic systems for rooftop and free-field plants, taking over the complete support for projects from planning and installation to associated services. As a service provider for renewable energy, the company has experience of more than 1,500 completed projects.

In November 2011, 2,327 Solar Frontier modules were installed on the roof of a new commercial building of steel construction company, Gruber Stahlbau in Unterdietfurt. Partly due to the low roof tilt angle and the eastwest orientation, the decision was made to utilize CIS thin-film modules from Solar Frontier. Thanks to good low-light behavior, Solar Frontier CIS modules begin working earlier and continue working later in the day, contributing to increased output in comparison to crystalline silicon modules.

By the following November, with an annual output of nearly 360,000 kWh, the expected output of 330,000 kWh was far exceeded. As a result, 120 fourperson households can be supplied with solar power or alternatively the power can also be consumed directly by the Gruber Stahlbau company. The annual CO2 savings of 240 tons are a welcome contribution to climate protection and an excellent example of an ideal combination of technology and environmental protection.
