IRFTS is a French specialist for roof integrated systems and has developed the EASY ROOF overlapping mounting system for quick and easy installation of PV systems. Through continuous development and adaptation, IRFTS has set a goal to make new PV mounting systems for a wide range of prospective customers. The system is suitable for any roof shape, even with old, irregular or deformed roofs.

This 4.8 kWp rooftop system with Solar Frontier’s CIS thin-film modules was installed on a private house in Magliano Sabina, Italy, and is expected to generate more than 5,000 kWh of electricity annually and save more than 2,800 kg of CO2 emission per year. By using the IRFTS EASY ROOF overlapping mounting system, 16 CIS modules were installed on the east side and 16 modules on the west side of the roof. Even on rooftops with old roofing shingles like on this house, the EASY ROOF system allows quick and easy installation. The 32 CIS modules were connected to the grid in November 2011.

Despite the east-/west-orientation of the roof and the low tilt angle of only 15 degrees, the system is expected to achieve high output levels thanks to the good low-light behavior of Solar Frontier´s CIS thin-film modules. In addition, the EASY ROOF in-roof design provides an architecturally harmonious integration of the PV system in the roof of the house in combination with the black CIS modules.
